Our Special Recipe
Like grandma's secret sauce, we've added some special ingredients to create our own unique flavor!
What Makes Our Social Enterprise Unique
We specialize in, and have a proven success track for, working with deserving under-served girls (because we know the power of words we prefer affirming adjectives to terms like at-risk and high-risk).
We encompass spirit, mind and body for total healing.
We have a Quality Assurance Team that conducts monthly assessments with the individuals and families we serve, to ensure the highest quality of services.
We offer an online mentoring system that works in conjunction with our programs and services, and offers a free lifetime membership to participants who successfully complete their program(s).
We offer girls who successfully complete their program(s) the opportunity to attend any weekly class, at no additional cost, for as long as they would like.
We offer an after-hours on-call emergency line as a means of extra support to our students and their families.
Youth who successfully complete their programs have the opportunity to join the exclusive sorority for UK alumni [SuperKnovas™].
Youth are offered internships, while enrolled in high school, that are specific to their area of interest(s) (ie. Ballet/dance, architecture, culinary arts, theater, engineering, etc.); this gives girls the incentive needed to peak their interests in continuing on to post-secondary education opportunities. It also puts them ahead of many of their peers who won’t get the hands-on experience until their college/university years.
We are comprehensive ----
Art-As-Therapy (not in the ‘traditional’ sense – we have developed our own methodology)
Teaching self-care practices (meditation, yoga, freedom to express oneself spiritually, acceptance, journaling, etc.)
Nutrition/Health & Wellness (girls are taught healthy eating habits [by learning through hands-on food preparation], and the importance of exercise)
Academics (school visits for student open-house, lunch with student, tutoring, homework assistance and showing support by attending extra-curricular school-related activities)
Personalized field trips (i.e. Girls interested in live theater would attend a production and assist, etc.)
Parent-Involvement (monthly family building activities, U.Kurrency, mother-daughter retreats and workshops, in-home visits and phone calls)
Independent Living (girls are taught how to open checking and savings accounts, write a check, balance a checkbook, create budgets, manage their money and time, apply for scholarships and Financial Aid, complete college applications, successfully interview for a job, rent an apartment, purchase a car, turn their passions into a career, etc.)
